Sultana Firdousi is a Bangla Academy best-selling author, renowned for her poetry, short-stories and novels that are a medley of rural and urban depictions.
She imbues scenic descriptions of the Bangladeshi countryside, adding specks of emotions in her words that enthrall her readers.
Her love for nature and it’s beauty stems from her spending most of her childhood in the countrysides of Manikganj, while her family descends from Kushtia. In addition, she writes about the pain and struggles of Bengali women as they suffer from male oppression, even in our current, modern society. A strong feminist at heart, she implements her notions of equality and women empowerment in her writing, hoping to inspire and encourage the women of our country.
Her goals in life are simple: to finish raising her two daughters, and to always keep reading and writing for as long as she can.
